Night Curfew In Haryana, Eight Cities In Gujarat From 11 pm to 5 am | Latest Guidelines 

Haryana, Gujarat Omicron Guidelines: In India, 358 cases of Omicron variant have been detected so far in 17 states and Union Territories.

New Delhi: In view of rising cases of the highly transmissible Omicron Covid-19 variant, the Haryana government has imposed night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. 

The Haryana government has also prohibited gatherings of more than 200 people in public places and events, a statement by the Haryana Chief Minister's Office said.

Earlier this week, Health Minister Anil Vij said that people not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 would not be allowed to enter malls, restaurants, banks and other public areas in the state from January 1.

It also said that no one, including employees, would be allowed to enter government offices without double dose vaccination.

"Only fully vaccinated persons will be allowed to travel from bus stand, railway stations. Other places of gathering like religious places, petrol and CNG stations, LPG gas cylinder collection centres, sugar mills, milk booths, ration shops also to allow only fully vaccinated people," an order sent to all deputy commissioners in Haryana said.

Gujarat Extends Night Curfew Timings

On the other hand, the Gujarat government said night curfew in eight cities – Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh – would be in force from 11 pm to 5 am from Saturday, PTI reported. Earlier, the curfew timing was from 1 am to 5 am.

"Commercial activities in shops, restaurants, shopping complexes, marketing yards, marts, hair cutting saloons, beauty parlours among others in these eight cities are allowed to remain open till 11 pm," the government notification said.

Gujarat reported seven new cases of Omicron variant on Thursday, taking the state tally to 30. On Thursday, more than 100 new cases were reported in a single day after nearly seven months.

In India, 358 cases of Omicron variant have been detected so far in 17 states and Union Territories. Of them, 114 have recovered or migrated, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
