Three persons allegedly stripped and thrashed a girl and a music teacher in his mid-40s after the two were reportedly caught in a compromising position in Bihar's Begusarai district.
Three persons allegedly stripped and thrashed a minor girl and a man, a music teacher in his mid-40s, after the two were caught in a compromising position in Bihar's Begusarai district, said police on Saturday. The matter came to light after a video of the incident was circulated on social media on Friday, which showed three persons assaulting and stripping the minor and the man, said an officer, as reported by news agency PTI. Begusarai Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar said the police have launched a search operation to arrest the three persons who assaulted the minor and the accused.
He also said a preliminary investigation reveals that the incident took place last Thursday. The police have also constituted a team under the supervision of a senior woman police officer in order to investigate the case further, reported PTI.
The SP was quoted by PTI as saying: "Medical examination of the victim is also being conducted. Her statement will also be recorded before the magistrate.” He also said, “We have arrested the music teacher based on the statement given by the victim.”
Meanwhile, a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Section 67B of the Information Technology (IT) Act and Section 376 of the IPC (sexual offences) have also been registered against the accused.
Currently, the police are examining the video and have also sent the clothes of the two persons and other evidence recovered from the spot for forensic examination.
