MUMBAI: Hasin Jahan, estranged wife of cricketer Mohammad Shami, on Tuesday joined the Congress party in Mumbai. Jahan joined the Congress in presence of Mumbai Congress Committee president Sanjay Nirupam. News agency ANI shared a photo of Jahan with Nirupam welcoming her in Congress party. "Hasin Jahan, wife of cricketer Mohammed Shami, joined Congress in presence of Mumbai Congress Committee President Sanjay Nirupam, earlier today," ANI tweeted.

Jahan shot to limelight earlier this year when she accused lodged a case against Shami and his family members for physical and mental abuse, and attempt to murder She also accused Shami of match-fixing saying that he was spending time with a Pakistani woman in Dubai and taking money from her. Shami was probed by the anti-corruption officials of the BBCI for allegedly taking money from Pakistani contacts and was found not guilty.
