Never Been to Dubai, Was With Family In Maldives: NCB's Sameer Wankhede Against Nawab Malik’s Charges

The NCB Zonal Director Wankhede is spearheading the investigations on the Mumbai Drug case which involved Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan.

New Delhi: In response to Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik comments, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal chief Sameer Wankhede has said that he along with his family is been harassed for the last 15 days. The NCB Zonal Director Wankhede is spearheading the investigations on the Mumbai Drug case which involved Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan.

Responding to the allegations made by the NCP leader, Wankhede said, “The word ‘extortion’ is a disgusting term. I did go to the Maldives after taking the competent authority’s permission. I went with my children and family after taking the government’s permission. If he calls that extortion, then this is not acceptable."

While responding to Wankhade's statement, Malik on his official Twitter handle writes, "Sameer Wankhade has accepted the fact that he had visited the Maldives but he denies the visit to Dubai. Here is the proof of his visit to Dubai with his sister. Sameer Wankhade was at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai on 10th December 2020. His lie stands exposed."

In defence of Wankhede, NCB has released a factual report regarding the issue at hand. The report was shared by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

"After joining NCB, there was no application from him (Sameer Wankhede) for going to Dubai. He sought permission for going to the Maldives with his family," Ashok Mutha Jain, NCB DDG was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

Earlier, NCP leader Nawab Malik had levelled various allegations against Wankhede including filing fake cases against celebrities. "They (BJP) have a puppet - Wankhede. He raises bogus cases against people. I challenge that Wankhede that he'll lose his job within a year. You came to jail us, people of this nation won't be silent without seeing you behind bars. We have evidence of bogus cases,” Malik was quoted by ANI in its report.
