Techie Who Posted Online Rape Threats To Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma's Infant Remanded Till Nov 15

New Delhi: The software engineer, who was booked for allegedly posting online rape threats to the 10-month-old daughter of Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, has been remanded in police custody by a Mumbai court till November 15.
The Cyber Cell of the Mumbai crime branch had arrested the 23-year-old accused, Ramanagesh Srinivas, from Hyderabad’s Sangareddy on Wednesday, according to the police.

The accused, a state topper and a graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, was on Thursday produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which remanded him in police custody till November 15.
According to the public prosecutor, the accused had frequently altered his social media accounts in order to troll the cricketer.
Akubathini had allegedly posted the rape threats on Twitter after the back-to-back defeats of India in the recent T20 World Cup matches. He had also masked his social media accounts in a bid to dodge the police lens.
Akubathini has been booked under India Penal Code (IPC) Sections 354A (outraging modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 500 (defamation), along with Sections 67 and 67B of the Information Technology Act (IT ACT) for publishing obscene and sexually explicit material against children in electronic form.
