#MeToo movement in India: Days after a female photojournalist accused Kailash Kher of sexually harassing her, a fresh allegation against the singer-composer has surfaced. Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has accused Kher of sexual misconduct. Mohapatra has alleged Kher of making advances to her. The 'Ambarsariya' singer took to Twitter last night and in a series of tweets, she recalled the horror.  “The shamelessness of this man. To call himself ‘simple’, ‘devoted to music’ & even claiming amnesia. If this chap could dare try this stunt with me, it’s a disease that he has & I can vouch for not only these two women’s stories but hundreds more he would’ve have preyed o,” Mohapatra wrote on Twitter.

Taking a note from the news report that reported that Kher has apologised to the journalist for the misconduct, Sona wrote, "How many women will you apologise to Kailash Kher??? Start now. Will take a lifetime."

Here are a series of tweets by Sona Mohapatra

Earlier, a female journalist, accused Kher of harassment. She said: "This creep kept his hand on my thigh." In his response Kher has said the news has left him extremely disappointed. While he said he was neither aware nor remembered the incident, he asserted that he respects humanity, especially women. In his defense, Kailash said in a statement to IANS, "For all those who know me and have come across me, will know how much I respect humanity, especially women, even more for the ones who work in media since their work is difficult." The #MeToo movement - which led to thousands of people to come forward and share their stories of sexual harassment at workplaces- has started taking shape in India. It started taking root in the country after Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. In recent days other Bollywood figures, a comedian, a best-selling author, and top journalists have all found themselves accused of abusing their positions to behave improperly towards women. This has emboldened others to speak out at last.
