New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in the garbage at the Bhalswa landfill site on Tuesday evening. A fire brigade official said that the information about the fire was received at 5:47 pm in the evening and 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg said, “The fire started from a shop on the ground floor and spread to other stores and a restaurant. The fire also spread to the residence and an office on the first floor of the building.”

A DTC bus also caught fire on Tuesday afternoon in the Vikas Marg area.
Earlier on March 28, a fire broke out at the Ghazipur landfill site which took more than 50 hours to extinguish. There was smoke in the area after the fire. There was also a lot of political rhetoric between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP regarding the fire in the garbage dump.
There were incidents of fire at three places in different areas on Tuesday. A fire broke out in the Transport Building on Parliament Street on Tuesday. The fire started from the air conditioner of a room in the building. In another incident, a fire broke out in a shop in the main market of Lajpat Nagar in Amar Colony and spread to other shops. At the same time, a fire broke out in a DTC bus in Vikas Marg area on Tuesday afternoon.
