Mamata Banerjee Meets PM Modi In New Delhi; Discusses Covid Crisis, Vaccine Shortage & More

This is Mamata Banerjee's first meeting with PM Modi in Delhi after taking over as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. She has come to Delhi for the first time after acquiring the post of CM.

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence - 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi - on Tuesday evening. Interestingly, this is Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo's first meeting with the Prime Minister ever since she returned to power in West Bengal post the Assembly polls. Mamta has come to Delhi for the first time after acquiring the CM post.

After the meeting, Mamata Banerjee told reporters that it was a courtesy meeting with the PM today.

"During the meeting, I raised the issue of COVID & need for more vaccines & medicines in the state. I also raised the pending issue of the change of name of the state. On this issue, he said, "He will see," she said.

Banerjee also said that PM should call an all-party meeting on the Pegasus issue adding that there should be a Supreme Court-monitored probe in this matter.

Mamta Banerjee Meets Senior Congress Leaders

Earlier in the day, Congress leaders met Mamata Banerjee in the national capital. Former Madhya Pradesh CM and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath met the TMC chief which was followed by her meeting with Congress leader Anand Sharma.

Mamta Banerjee To Meet Sonia Gandhi Tomorrow

Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Mamta Banerjee is preparing to play an important role at the national level. After meeting Mamta Banerjee, Kamal Nath told ABP News, “The strategy for 2024 will be discussed with Sonia Gandhi. Mamata will meet Sonia Gandhi tomorrow morning."

Kamal Nath said that he has old relations with Mamta Banerjee and came to congratulate her. He said that issues like inflation, law and order and suppress-buying politics in the country were discussed with Mamata Banerjee.

Mamata To Meet President Tomorrow

If TMC sources are to believed, Mamta Banerjee can also go to Parliament where the monsoon season is on. She is also likely to meet President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday. Mamta Banerjee, who reached Delhi during the monsoon session of Parliament, can also meet leaders of other opposition parties.

Mamata Likely To Meet Sharad Pawar, Sanjay Raut Tomorrow

On Tuesday, Mamta Banerjee met Prashant Kishor as well. Tomorrow she is also likely to meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut.
