Delhi Reports 1,323 Fresh Covid Cases, Positivity Rate Reaches 6.69%. Maharashtra Logs 4,255 Infections
In view of the sudden spike in daily caseload, doctors from various leading hospitals have asked to people to follow all Covid-appropriate behaviour.
Delhi again recorded over 1,000 cases with 1,323 infections, 1,016 recoveries and 2 deaths being logged in last 24 hours. With this, the active cases in the city reached 3,948. Positivity rate of Delhi also surged to 6.69 per cent.
Over 7,100 cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Delhi in the last 10 days as doctors and other medical experts cautioned people to not lower the guard and follow all Covid-appropriate behaviour.
With the fresh cases, positivity rate too has climbed from 1.92 per cent registered on June 7 to 7.01 per cent on June 15, as per official figures.
Delhi on Wednesday had recorded 1,375 Covid cases, the highest daily tally in a month, and zero death. The number of Covid-19 cases have registered a steady rise in the last ten days, as the daily tally mounted to over 1,300 on June 15 from 247 on June 6, totalling 7,175 cases in this period, the data revealed.
This corresponds to a rise of about 450 per cent in the daily cases in this period.

They also urged people to not panic.
Everybody has lowered the guard so such spikes (of cases) will happen. Patients are recovering in three to four days, and are having fever, body ache or loose motions. The good thing is that there is no lung involvement and requirement of oxygen," news agency PTI quoted BL Sherwal, medical superintendent, RML Hospital as saying.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Thursday 4,255 new Covid-19 cases, 2,879 recoveries and three deaths with active cases rising to 20,634. Additionally, 2 cases of BA.5 variant have been found in Nagpur.
One patient is 29 year old male while another is 54 year old female found positive on June 6 and June 9 for Covid-19. They have history of travel to Kerala and Mumbai respectively during last week. Both the patients are vaccinated and recovered at home isolation.
