Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Election 2021 Results LIVE Updates: The counting of votes is underway for the third tier of governance at 14,234 Gram Panchayats across 34 of Maharashtra's 36 districts.
The NCP has managed to retain all the 49 seats in Baramati. Two seats have been elected unopposed. The result is being celebrated all over Baramati.

Jalna: As there is counting of votes underway for the election in the Gram Panchayat, the citizens of the villages are crowding at the counting centers. Police on Monday used mild force to disperse the crowd gathered at Bhokardan counting center in the district.
As per the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party-backed candidates are performing well. The party is ahead in at least 12 panchayats, while Shiv Sena is leading in 10 panchayats.
Jalgaon: NCP district president Ravindra Patil's panel at Manor Budruk in Bodwad taluka faced a defeat. His nephew Samrat Patil was leading the panel which won only one of the nine seats . This is considered a big blow for the NCP.
The results of the Gram Panchayat in Maharashtra where the elections were held on Friday, are set to be announced today. Out of a total of 14234 seats, 12711 seats were voted. The remaining seats were chosen by mutual consent and some seats were also decided later.
By noon, the situation will become clear. Significantly, in the trends that have come so far, there is a tough competition between BJP and Shiv Sena.
As per the latest trends, the Nationalist Congress Party is leading in six of seven gram panchayats in Parali which is Dhananjay Munde's stronghold. BJP meanwhile is ahead in one.
Results for six out of the 17 Sayyed Pimpri gram Panchayats in Nasik have been declared, as per which, Congress' gram vikas panel emerged victorious.
As per the latest trends, Shiv Sena is currently leading in 331, while the BJP is ahead in 266. The NCP on the other hands has bagged 221 gram panchayats and Congress 147 in the polls.

As per the initial trends, Shiv Sena,which is part of the ruling alliance of the state, is leading in over 270 seats while BJP is leading in 257. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) which is also a unit of the MVA government was leading in 218 seats, while the Congress was ahead in 124.
Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was at the front in five seats.
The Maharashtra gram panchayat elections are the first major grassroots electoral challenge before the Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party-Congress Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray since it assumed office 15 months ago.
A whopping 214,880 candidates from all the major political parties, state parties, regional parties and local parties besides independents were in the fray for the crucial elections. Of these, as many as 26,718 candidates have been declared elected unopposed, reports have said.

The results are being viewed as a litmus test for the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government as local issues intertwined with regional or state concerns dominated the poll campaigns.
As per the initial trends, Shiv Sena,which is part of the ruling alliance of the state, is leading in over 270 seats while BJP is leading in 257. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) which is also a unit of the MVA government was leading in 218 seats, while the Congress was ahead in 124.
Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was at the front in five seats.
The trends are mercurial and are changing at regular intervals. The results will be an indicator of how the parties have fared at grassroot level. It is reported that approximately 66 per cent of the voters turned out and the response was "overwhelming" especially from women and youth, besides voters in the Maoist-hit district of Gadchiroli.
From the total 14,234 Gram Panchayats, 12,776 went to vote as the members in 1,461 village councils were declared elected unopposed.
