New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party, on Thursday, displayed its eagerness to form government with Shiv Sena, amid the bitter power tussle going on between the two allies. Senior leader Sudhir Mungantiwar asserted that BJP wished to form government with its ally Shiv Sena only.
Mungantiwar brushed aside the speculations that BJP was going to stake claim to form governmnet during its meeting with the Governor slated later in the day.
The BJP delegation comprising of party’s Maharashtra unit president Chandrakant Patil and senior party leader Sudhir Mungantiwar, will meet Governor today, but will not stake claim of governmnet formation.
"We want to run a strong and stable government, we wish to form the Govt with Shiv Sena. Uddhav ji had himself said earlier that Devendra Fadnavis ji is also a Shiv Sainik," Sudhir Mungantiwar said.
CM Devendra Fadnavis, who has been elected as BJP’s legislative party leader in Maharashtra, however, will not be present during the meeting, news agency PTI has reported.
In the recently concluded assmebly polls, BJP won 105 seats in the 288-member House.
Meanwhile, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also denied possibility of his entry into Maharashtra politics and hinted that Devendra Fadnavis will only be leading the new government.
He is likely to meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at its headquarters, according to agencies.
Gadkari and Bhagwat are expected to discuss the political scenario with both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena unwilling to let go off the Chief Minister's post as the prospects of President's Rule loom ahead by this weekend
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena which is stuck in a deadlock, with ally BJP over sharing of CM’s post, has also called for a meeting of all of its elected legislators ahead of BJP’s meet with Governor.

Sena MP Sanjay Raut again reiterated that the next government will be formed by his party with its own Chief Minister, but has not spelled out how it will be achieved.
The BJP and the Shiv Sena are engaged in a bitter tug-of-war over the latter's demand for equal distribution of portfolios and sharing the chief minister's post.
The BJP has rejected the Sena's demand for sharing the chief minister's post for two-and-a-half years each. The tenure of the present Assembly ends on November 9.
Sources from both the parties on Wednesday said back channel talks were on between the two old but often-feuding Hindutva allies and a breakthrough was expected.
