Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Padma Shukla quits BJP, joins Congress

She will be meeting senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Monday in Chindwara and will take membership of Congress party.

Madhya Pradesh: In a major blow to Bharatiya Janta Party government, Padma Shukla, who holds a ministerial post in Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s cabinet resigned and shook hands with rival party Congress. Shulka, who held the post of Madhya Pradesh public welfare board Chief; has resigned from both her post; she is likely to be inducted in Congress on Monday. She will be meeting senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Monday in Chindwara and will take membership of Congress party. As per sources, she wants to contest election again her former party BJP leader Sanjay Pathak. The main reason behind her resignation is yet to be known. But, leaving of a cabinet minister right ahead of polls has certainly come as a blow to Bharatiya Janta Party.
