Latest Weather Update: Wet Spell Over Parts Of North India, Moderate Rainfall In Haryana & Punjab Today

Earlier today, the Met department had predicted light to moderate rainfall over adjoining parts of Hodal in Haryana,  Nandgaon, Iglas, Sikandra Rao, Raya, Hathras in UP in the next two hours.

New Delhi: The wet spell in Northern India as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has begun. And as a result of the same, light to moderate rainfall is expected over Northwestern India. 

Earlier today, the Met department had predicted light to moderate rainfall over adjoining parts of Hodal in Haryana,  Nandgaon, Iglas, Sikandra Rao, Raya, Hathras in UP in the next two hours. Consequently, dense fog was reported in many regions on Monday morning.

As per the IMD prediction, the national capital had also experienced light rain on Sunday evening. The Twitter handle of IMD updated last night of light intensity rain over Sakoti Tanda, Daurala, Sahaswan, Badaun, Aligarh, Kasganj, Nandgaon, Iglas in the next two hours.

The Met department had issued a press release on Sunday stating, “A Western Disturbance is seen as a cyclonic circulation over East Afghanistan & adjoining Pakistan and an induced cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Rajasthan & neighbourhood at lower tropospheric levels.”

Due to the above-mentioned conditions, the wet spell is supposed to be continued for the next 4-5 days. However, there will be no severe cold wave conditions in the region. 

Similar conditions would prevail over east India as well with likely thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms. The rainy weather would move eastwards over the next few days until December 29. After that, the wet spell would most likely be subsided, and there is no indication of a drop in temperature.
