'Useless Comments Have Reactions': SAD Slams Kangana After Slap Episode, Congress Says 'Think And Speak'
While the Shiromani Akali Dal justified the slap incident, the Congress criticised Kangana Ranaut for her remarks, asking her to "think and speak".
A massive row erupted after actor-politician Kangana Ranaut was slapped by the CISF personnel Kulwinder Kaur at the Chandigarh Airport during security check. The newly-elected BJP MP from Himachal's Mandi was allegedly hit for her remarks regarding the farmers' protests in 2020.
Following the controversial incident, the CISF guard was arrested on Friday and was booked under sections 323 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code. The CISF has also ordered a court of inquiry against the personnel in connection with the incident.
Although Bollywood has remained silent over the incident, a few political leaders have commented on the slap episode. While the Shiromani Akali Dal justified the incident, the Congress stated that it does not support an incident of a woman being slapped, but also criticised Kangana for her remarks, asking her to "think and speak".
This comes as multiple farmer unions announced a protest rally in support of thr CISF personnel Kaur, scheduled to be held on June 9 in Punjab's Mohali.
'There's A Reaction When You Say Stupid Things': Harsimrat Kaur Badal
SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal commented on the slap episode saying, "Kangana Ranaut should understand her responsibility instead of trying to please her High Command...Being an actress, she is followed by many people, when you say stupid things and make useless comments then there is a reaction."
"If someone says such words to your mother that you have said to other people's mothers, you too won't like it," Badal added.
Slamming the BJP for "spreading poison", the SAD MP said: "Instead of looking at your mistake, you are calling them terrorists...Your party's policy is to spread poison... Instead of spreading poison, if you spread sweetness, you won't have to face such a situation."

Meanwhile, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa stressed that he does not support such an incident.
"...I don't support it, if someone slaps somebody during security checks. This should not happen."
However, he also criticised Kangana Ranaut for calling "entire Punjab terrorist" and added that reply to her statements will be given in the Parliament.
"But later, Kangana Ranaut called the entire Punjab terrorist...I would like to tell her to think and speak. To attain freedom for this country, we Punjabis have shed our blood. At the time of terrorism, we don't know where she was or where BJP was. 22,000 Congress people gave their lives there...What she said is wrong and a reply will be given in the Parliament," Randhawa said.
