Jaishankar In Pakistan: PM Shezhbaz Sharif Welcomes EAM At SCO Summit Venue — Watch
EAM S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif shook hands ahead of the SCO Summit in Islamabad, marking the first such visit from India in a decade despite strained relations.
External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shook hands on Wednesday as the latter welcomed the EAM at the SCO Summit venue in Islamabad.
Jaishankar arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday at the Nur Khan airbase on the outskirts of Islamabad in the first such visit from India in nearly a decade amid frosty ties between the two nations.
The two leaders exchanged pleasantries and posed for camera as Shehbaz Sharif welcomed S Jaishankar at the Jinnah Convention Centre ahead of the 23rd meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government (CHG) of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Following his arrival on Tuesday, the EAM took part in a banquet dinner hosted by the Pakistan PM at his residence in honour of the delegates attending the summit where both of them had a brief exchange and shook hands with each other.
Jaishankar also exchanged pleasantries with Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at the reception.
The SCO meeting is being hosted by Pakistan under tight security and the capital city has almost been under lockdown. Other countries taking part in the summit include China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran along India.
