‘No Staff To Change Oxygen Cylinders’: Relatives Create Ruckus At Jaipur Hospital After 4 Covid-19 Patients Die

Jaipur: The family members of four Covid-19 patients, who succumbed to the virus, caused uproar at a private hospital in Rajasthan capital Jaipur alleging there was no staff to change oxygen cylinders at the facility.

Kalwar Police Station House Officer (SHO) Gurudutt Saini, who confirmed the untoward incident, said the family members of the deceased created ruckus at the hospital premises but were later pacified.

He added that no hospital staff was present to replace the cylinders despite oxygen being available.

“Four Covid patients died at the hospital on Tuesday night. Their family members gathered and alleged that that there was no staff to change oxygen cylinders which led to the deaths,” PTI quoted the police officer as saying.

The SHO further no case has been registered in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma today said the state government has decided to begin the inoculation drive to cover those between 18 to 45 years of age from May 15.

This comes as Rajasthan in the last 24 hours recorded 16,613 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 5,63,577.  Around 120 people lost their lives to the virus while over 8,000 others recovered.
