J&K: Govt To Roll Out Job Policy Soon, Maximum Youth To Get Employment, Says LG Manoj Sinha

The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor asserted the security forces are working under a policy to ensure peace.

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said maximum youth will get jobs in the coming days as the government will roll out a job policy soon. Sinha, who was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Magam in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, added that qualified youth must give up the mindset of waiting for the government jobs.

Citing an example of a M. Tech youth, he said the youth was waiting for a government job for the past four years despite being well-qualified.

The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor asserted the security forces are working under a policy to ensure peace.

Sinha said no innocent will be touched, but guilty will be taken to task as per the law.

The Lieutenant Governor further said that some people are not happy to see peace prevailing in Kashmir, adding the government won’t allow them to succeed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier this month all departments and ministries to start hiring in “mission mode”, giving employment to 10 lakh people across departments in the next one and a half years.

“PM reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in mission mode in next 1.5 years,” the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) tweeted on June 14.

The decision has come at a time when unemployment is a matter of big concern for the country's economy that is still recovering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. With less than two years left for the next Lok Sabha elections, the Opposition has also been vocal in criticism of the government over its failure to create enough jobs.
