"FIR registered against a few GMC & SKIMS medical students for allegedly celebrating Pakistan's victory against India in ICC T20 World Cup match," IGP Vijay Kumar said.

New Delhi: Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar has said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against medical students of Government Medical College (GMC) and SKIMS Medical College and Hospital for allegedly celebrating Pakistan's victory in the recent T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.

"FIR registered against a few GMC & SKIMS medical students for allegedly celebrating Pakistan's victory against India in ICC T20 World Cup match," IGP Vijay Kumar was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

According to the UNI news report, apart from this, at least seven more people have been detained on Monday in Sambha after their video reportedly celebrating Pakistan's victory went viral on social media.

"A case also has been registered and seven persons are detained in this regard," sources were quoted by UNI in its news report.

Meanwhile, videos of people shouting pro-Pakistan slogans during the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan has been circulated in various parts of Kashmir.

Amidst all the tensions, a scuffle broke out between the factions of Kashmiri students and students from UP and Bihar at a private engineering college in Punjab's Sangrur district during the 20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan, India Today reported. The clash took place after reportedly some Kashmiri students started shouting pro-Pakistani slogans after the match. This particular incident infuriated some of the students belonging to UP and Bihar thus leading to the scuffle between the two groups.

For the first time ever, India lost a T20I by 10 wickets and Pakistan won a T20I by 10 wickets. The unbeaten 152-run partnership between Azam and Rizwan is the highest partnership for Pakistan against India for any wicket in T20Is.
