J&K: 2 Militants Killed In Encounter In Shopian District. 1 Involved In Bank Manager Killing
One of them has been identified as Jan Mohd Lone who was allegedly involved in the killing of Bank Manager Vijay Kumar, said Inspector General of Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar.
The Jammu and Kashmir police killed two militants associated with the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba in an encounter, the police said on Wednesday morning. The encounter took place late Tuesday night in the Kanjiular area of Shopian in South Kashmir. The police also recovered incriminating materials from the militants, including arms and ammunition, one AK 47, and a pistol.

As per the police report, one of the militants has been identified as Tufail Ganai. And the other one has been identified as Jan Mohd Lone who was allegedly involved in the killing of Bank Manager Vijay Kumar, said Inspector General of Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar.
“One of the killed #terrorists has been identified as Jan Mohd Lone of #Shopian. Besides other #terror crimes, he was involved in recent killing of Vijay Kumar, Bank manager on 2/6/22 in #Kulgam district,” the police added.
The police further said that the police and the army are still investigating the area and more details shall follow.
On June 13, three more LeT proscribed militants were killed by the police in an encounter in the Bemina area of Srinagar. Two of the killed were Pakistan-based terrorists, one from Faisalabad, and one of them was a resident of, Pahalgam, Anantnag district who had crossed over to Pakistan in 2018 via the Wagah border, IGP Kumar said.
The militant who was a local was identified as Adil Hussain Mir who was living in Pakistan since 2018.
One policeman also received minor injuries in the encounter, IGP Kumar said.
