Indian Coast Guard Apprehends Pakistani Boat 'Yaseen', Crew Brought To Porbandar For Interrogation

The officials said the Pakistani boat was six to seven miles inside the Indian waters and tried to escape from the scene after seeing the Coast Guard ship.

New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Ankit has apprehended a Pakistani Boat ‘Yaseen’ with 10 crew in the Indian waters in the Arabian sea during night operations on Saturday.

The Indian Coast Guard officials said the crew is being brought to Porbandar for further interrogation.

The officials said the Pakistani boat was six to seven miles inside the Indian waters and tried to escape from the scene after seeing the Coast Guard ship.

“So far, 2 tonnes of fish and 600 litres of fuel recovered from the deck. Further checks would be carried out once the boat reaches Porbandar,” the officials added, ANI reported.

Earlier on Saturday, Indian Coast Guard chief V.S. Pathania visited the Campbell Bay base of the force in the Great Nicobars where he was briefed about infrastructural development plans and maritime security issues in the region.

“Director General VS Pathania PTM TM  #DGICG complimented high morale & readiness of all ranks during maiden visit to Coast Guard Dist HQ-10, #Campbellbay of Great Nicobars. #DGICG was briefed about infrastructural development plan and maritime security issues in the region,” the Indian Coast Guard tweeted.

The Indian Coast Guard chief also evaluated the operational preparedness of the units during his maiden visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

“Director General VS Pathania PTM TM #DGICG evaluated the op preparedness of #ICG units during his maiden visit to Andaman & Nicobar islands. The DG also visited far flung islands of North Andaman and interacted with men and officers at Dist HQ Diglipur,” the Indian Coast Guard wrote on the micro-blogging platform.

The Indian Coast Guard, which conducts round-the-year real-life operations at sea, has a wide range of task capabilities for both surface and air operations.
