I always wanted to visit 51 Shaktipeeth and I feel blessed to have worshipped 1 Shakti Peeth here. This place needs a community hall, so they can use it during Kali Puja and gatherings and most important the community hall can prove beneficial during a natural disaster", PM Modi in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh authorities have renovated the Jeshoreshwari temple in Satkhira ahead of Prime Minister Modi's visit. The temple is believed to have been built by a Hindu king in the 16th century.

The PM is scheduled to visit the 'Mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman' in Tungipara of Gopalganj district.

Last time when Prime Minister Modi visited Bangladesh in 2015, he offered puja at Dhakeshwari temple in the national capital. Bangladesh has taken extra security measures for the Indian premier's visit in the wake of protests by a few leftist and Islamist groups.

Addressing the National Day programme on Friday, Prime Minister thanked his Bangladeshi counterpart for inviting him to country's National Day event and said that it was an honour for him to be a part of the programme.

While addressing the people of Bangladesh, PM Modi also remembered former Indian PM Indira Gandhi and said that her contribution in freedom of Bangladesh is publicly know.
