New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary meet on Monday that if anyone’s candidature was rejected, that is his responsibility, sources told news agency ANI.
“If anyone’s candidature was rejected, that’s my responsibility,” ANI quoted Modi as saying.

The Prime Minister was also briefed on the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine.
Modi gave a strong message to the MPs. He said that family politics will not be allowed in the party, and that dynasty politics elsewhere in other parties will be fought, ANI reported.
The BJP parliamentary meeting began at 9:30 am at the Ambedkar International Centre. The party had asked all its Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the meeting.
The meeting was held to review the BJP’s performance in the recently concluded assembly elections in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National head JP Nadda were present in today’s meeting, among other party leaders.
The meeting took place after the second phase of the Budget session of the parliament which began on March 14, Monday. The Budget session will conclude on April 8.
The BJP lost Punjab to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and secured only two seats in the state.
The BJP, however, won a sweeping majority in the remaining four states. The party won 255 seats in the 403-member assembly of Uttar Pradesh.
The BJP won 47 out of 70 seats in Uttarakhand, 32 out of 60 in Manipur, and 20 out of 40 in Goa.
On December 21, 2021, the last such BJP Parliamentary meet was held. At that meeting, the Prime Minister had expressed his concern about the attendance of BJP MPs in both upper and lower houses.
At the meeting, he had warned the MPs that they cannot bring change if they do want to change themselves.
