CRPF Jawan Opens Fire At Camp In Manipur, 2 Killed, 8 Injured

Two CRPF jawans were killed and eight injured in a tragic incident at a Manipur camp when a fellow jawan opened fire and then took his own life.

Two CRPF jawans have been killed and eight were injured after a fellow jawan opened fire before taking his own life at the Manipur camp on Thursday, officials told the news agency PTI.
 
According to a report by TOI, the incident took place around 8:20 pm at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Lamphel, Imphal West district. Sources revealed that Havildar Sanjay Kumar of the 120th battalion opened fire with his service weapon, killing a constable and a sub-inspector before taking his own life.  

Eight CRPF personnel were injured in the shooting and were rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal for treatment. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and an investigation has been launched. The CRPF has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
