Higher officials swindle away with food stock meant for jawans, alleges BSF jawan in J&K
New Delhi: A defence personnel claiming to be from the 29th battalion of the Border Security Force in Jammu and Kashmir has posted three videos on Facebook highlighting the conditions of jawans in the hilly terrain.
In a video posted on Facebook, Tej Bahadur Yadav, the BSF personnel, has raised the issue of massive irregularities in food items meant for soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir. The video has over 1.2 million views and close to a lakh accounts have shared it.
Yadav alleges that the higher level officials in the BSF sell the raw food items (wheat, rice, pulses) meant for them in markets and nobody questions the scam. He says soldiers are deprived of adequate food stock given by the government even as they battle harsh weather and tough terrain for at least 11 hours every day.
In a video titled 'BSF jawan ka naashta' ( BSF jawan's breakfast), he shows the quality of chapatti which appears to be burnt.
In the second video he shows dal being prepared in a camp with just turmeric and salt.

Yadav says he is aware of the consequences of making the video public and anticipates losing his job.
Meanwhile, sources in the BSF have said Yadav is a habitual offender and has resorted to putting up such a video as he wasn't pleased with his posting in LoC. "BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav is an habitual offender. He joined the BSF in 1996 and has received severe punishments four times for different reasons. He was charged of misbehaving with a Commander too. Recently he was sent to LoC for duty from a 'softer' place and since then was enraged with his posting and had threatened his superiors of dire consequences," Sources said.BSF is highly sensitive to the welfare of tps.Individual aberrations,if any,are enquired into.A senior officer has already rchd the location https://t.co/3fH7qZdV5P
