Gorakhpur-like tragedy in Bahraich; 71 children dead in 45 days at state run hospital
No statement has come from either Health Minister or Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath so far on the same.
New Delhi: Around a year after 1,317 children died in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur BRD Medical college; around 71 children have lost their lives in last 45 days at a district hospital in Bahraich.
As per the medical superintendent of the hospital, the deaths have happened due to various reasons. As per the Superintendent, there is a dearth of number of beds in the hospital.
“We have 200 beds, but currently 450 patients are admitted here” He said. “We are trying our best to save as many lives as we can”.
No statement has come from either Health Minister or Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath so far on the same.
As of 2 September 2017, 1,317 children had died at the state run BRD Medical College in 2017. The 2017 deaths attracted national attention in August, when 325 children died at the hospital after the hospital's piped oxygen supply ran out.
