Fishing Vessel Collides With Indian Navy Vessel Off Goa Coast, 11 Of 13 Crew Members Rescued
An Indian Navy vessel collided with a fishing boat in the Arabian Sea, resulting in the evacuation of 11 crew members.
A fishing vessel collided with an Indian Navy vessel in the Arabia Sea on Thursday evening, said the Indian Navy.
13 crew members were onboard the fishing vessel, Mrthoma at the time of collision 70 nautical miles off the Goa coast, as per the officials.
The Indian Navy immediately launched search and rescue efforts and 11 crew members were safely evacuated. The rescue ops were on for the remaining two in coordination with the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, Mumbai.
Additional assets have been diverted to the area to augment the efforts, said the Navy.
It also said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
