Ganesh Chaturthi 2021: PM Modi Greets Nation, Prez Kovind Urges People To Celebrate While Following COVID Norms
The birth anniversary of Lord Ganapati is celebrated on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi lasts for 10 days.
Ganeshotsav 2021: The festival of Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated with a lot of excitement across the country. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on this auspicious occasion.
President Kovind has appealed to people to celebrate Ganesh Utsav by adopting all COVID-19 restrictions.

President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted, "Ganpati Bappa Morya! Warm wishes to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. I wish that Vighnaharta Ganesha makes our efforts against COVID-19 successful and blesses everyone with happiness and peace. Let us all follow COVID rules while celebrating the festival."
PM Modi tweeted, "Wishing you all a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May this auspicious occasion brings happiness, peace, good fortune and health to everyone's life. Ganpati Bappa Morya!"
Goa CM Pramod Sawant also called upon people to follow COVID protocols during the celebrations. "We've vaccinated everyone with the first dose. I urge people to take their second dose in time," he said as he celebrated the festival with this family.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebration amid COVID-19
Today, Ganesh chaturthi is being celebrated across the country. The birth anniversary of Lord Ganapati is celebrated on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada. Ganeshotsav is celebrated with gaiety across several states including Maharashtra. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi lasts for 10 days as it begins on Chaturthi and ends on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will be celebrated differently this year as well.
