'Farmers Planned To Capture Red Fort & Make It New Protest Site': Delhi Police File Charge Sheet On R-Day Violence
Farmers have been protesting at the Delhi border for 6 months against the new Farm Laws. On 26th January 2021, a violent mob clashed with police during the tractor rally and hoisted Nishan Sahib flag on top.
New Delhi: In a new twist to the Red Fort violence case, Delhi Police have filed a 3000-page charge sheet stating that the incident was a conspiracy to capture the Lal Qila by the farmers protesting against the new Farm Laws.
According to the Delhi Police, the 26th January violence was planned to capture the Red Fort and turn it into a protest site and the Day to execute the conspiracy was chosen as the Republic Day to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the international level.
The Delhi Police says in its charge sheet, "As planned, farmers entered Red Fort in large numbers & stayed in premises for hours. Farmers wanted to capture Red Fort & make it a new protesting site. They opted Jan 26 to defame the Modi govt worldwide."
The Delhi Police Further states, "For this, planning was done in November-December as tractors were bought in large numbers in Haryana & Punjab."
