On Monday, farmers will complete 10 months of the ongoing protest against new agricultural laws enacted by Centre last year. On this occasion, farmers have called Bharat Bandh on Monday, September 27.

New Delhi: Farmers will hold a rally in Panipat in Haryana today against the agricultural law passed by the government. Rakesh Tikait is also likely to attend and address the kisan rally in Panipat. Farmer leader Ratan Maan, who is arranging the kisan rally, said the event is to repeal anti-farmer laws and wake up the government for it. Ratan Maan said thousands of farmers will attend the rally.

Bharat Bandh Tomorrow

On Monday, farmers will complete 10 months of the ongoing protest against new agricultural laws enacted by Centre last year. On this occasion, farmers have called Bharat Bandh on Monday, September 27. It has been called by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha.

The Haryana unit of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh will organise the rally and has invited several leaders of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha to the rally. BKU state president Maan said that the rally is being organised by BKU. Farmers of Panipat have invited Rakesh Tikait to honour him for running the Kisan Movement.

This will be the first such rally in the state after three days of protests by farmer leaders over lathicharge on farmers in Karnal on August 28. Protesters claimed that at least 10 farmers were injured and one killed due to police action during that rally.

Appeal to Make Bharat Bandh a Success

The SKM on Thursday appealed to the people of the country to join the Bharat Bandh against the Centre's agricultural laws and asked political parties to "stand with farmers to protect the principles of democracy and federalism", join this nationwide movement and make 'Bharat Bandh' a success.

The shutdown will be held from 6 am to 4 pm during which all government and private offices, educational and other institutions, shops, industry and commercial establishments, as well as public events and programmes across the country will remain closed. Those involved in hospitals, medical stores, relief and rescue operations and personal emergencies will get exemption in shutdown.
