Earthquake Hits Near India-Nepal Border; Tremors Felt In Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: An earthquake of moderate density struck a forest region in Nepal on Tuesday evening. Some tremors of the earthquake were also reported from New Delhi, specifically in larger parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) and parts of North India. According to reports, tremors of the earthquake were reported from Delhi-NCR, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The epicentre of the earthquake was near the India-Nepal border. The earthquake was measured at magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake's epicentre was located in Nepal's Khaptad National Park. The agency also said that the epicentre of the earthquake was located just 1.3 km below ground. The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at around 7:30 pm (local time), was located at a shallow depth of 14 kilometers, about 87 kilometers northwest of Dailekh district, the EMSC said. "An earthquake was recorded in Delhi on Tuesday sometime back. Tremors were felt in Delhi-National Capital Region," private weather agency Skymet tweeted. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to properties. (This is a developing story.
