Dokalam standoff: China takes a jibe at India, says Ram Rahim issue "exposes India's woes"

New Delhi: China on Monday took a snipe at India over Dokalam issue and ‘advised’ to lay its focus on ongoing unrest that has been created in the country over Dera Chief’s arrest than focusing on the border dispute of  Dokalam. Commenting on the recent violence which came as an aftermath of self proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction saying it "exposes India's woes”. “It is India’s internal affair to settle the riots, and China hopes the Indian government can quell the unrest soon.  But, as Beijing and New Delhi have been locked in Dokalam standoff for sometime, we have reason to worry that India may use the border disputes to divert Public attention away from domestic conflicts if the riots escalate” was quoted by Hawkish run daily Global Times. It further read that, “the gurus phenomenon also suggests public’s disappointment towards country’s traditional politics” . “Dissatisfied with the reality, an increasing number of Indian citizens are turning to these non-traditional religious groups. It is quite ironic that modernisation is the means of communication by these so called gurus has become the barrier which impedes Indian public from spiritual modernisation”. The special CBI Court is set to pronounce quantum of punishment after convicting Ram Rahim of sexual assault case. Many eyebrows were raised and questions were risen on the credibility of these self procliamed babas and gurus that have been mushrooming in Indian society, gathering crores of followers, who are ‘blinded’ in the name of faith. Atleast 38 people died  in the violence that erupted as an aftermath of verdict on Ram Rahim’s sexual assault case.
