'Disturbing': VP Venkaiah Naidu On RS Losing 35% Functional Time Due To Disruptions
Naidu, in the Rajya Sabha raised the fact that the House in the last four years has lost over 35% of its functional time due to disruptions which he termed as "disturbing".
New Delhi: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu Thursday expressed concerns over the House losing "valuable" working hours due to disruptions.
Naidu, in the Rajya Sabha raised the fact that the House in the last four years has lost over 35% of its functional time due to disruptions which he termed as "disturbing".
He also urged the members to take measures in this regard "before it is too late".
"It is disturbing to note that during the last over four years, this august House has lost over 35% of its valuable functional time due to disruptions. This needs to be curbed before it is too late,” said Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, as reported by news agency ANI.

Naidu will host farewell dinner for 72 Rajya Sabha MPs today at his official residence in Delhi. Mementos will also be presented to all the retiring members by the Rajya Sabha Chairman, reported ANI.
A cultural programme will also be held where the Rajya Sabha members will showcase their talent.
Earlier today Prime Minister Narendra Modi bid farewell to all retiring members of Rajya Sabha. He thanked them for their service and urged them to share their experience across the country and inspire the new generation.
"We have spent a long time in this Parliament. This House has contributed a lot to our lives, more than we have contributed to it. The experience gathered as a member of this House should be taken to all four directions of the country, said PM Modi to retiring members of Rajya Sabha, as reported by ANI.
