Delhi: Woman Ends Life By Jumping In Front Of Moving Metro At Jor Bagh Station Of Yellow Line

A lady passenger reportedly committed suicide on Monday by jumping in front of a moving train and being hit at a station on the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line, according to the police, news agency PTI reported.

The train was heading towards HUDA City Centre when she leaped off the platform and was hit, according to authorities.

Alerting the commuters at 11:20 am, DMRC on his official Twitter handle writes, "Yellow Line Update Delay in services from Central Secretariat to Green Park due to a passenger on track at Jor Bagh. Normal service on all other lines."

Around 11:30 a.m., the DMRC tweeted that normal services had been restored.

According to police, an unnamed woman in her 50s wearing'salwar-kameez' leaped in front of a speeding metro train and suffered a head injury. She was immediately transferred to Safdarjung Hospital by CATS ambulance, where she was found dead, they added. There was no suicide note found on her. As a result, the cause for her action remains unknown, according to a senior police official.

He stated that the body had been held in a morgue and that a post-mortem will be performed after her identification was determined.

Samaypur Badli in Delhi and HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon are linked by the Yellow Line.
