Delhi Becomes First State/UT To Vaccinate 30% Population With At Least One Covid Vaccine Shot
The Kejriwal government has set a target to vaccinate the entire population above 18 years of age in a total of 3 months.
New Delhi: Rapid vaccination is being carried out by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital, with over 30 per cent of city's entire population above the age of 18 years being vaccinated. With this, Delhi becomes the first state to achieve this milestone.
Approximately 59.11 lakh people vaccinated in Delhi
So far, 59,11,810 people have been administered the vaccine by the Kejriwal government in Delhi, of which 45,17,647 such people have been given the first dose of the vaccine. In this way, 30 per cent of Delhi's population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated. Apart from this, 13.94 lakh people in Delhi have been given both doses of the vaccine.
At the same time, no state government across the country has been able to vaccinate 30 per cent of its population.
Kejriwal Govt Sets Target For Next Month
The target for the next month has also been fixed by the Kejriwal government. As soon as Delhi gets an adequate vaccine supply, 30 to 60 per cent of the population will be vaccinated in the coming 1 month. The Kejriwal government has set a target to vaccinate the entire population above 18 years of age in a total of 3 months.
13 Lakh People Above 45 Yrs Get Both Doses
The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 32.50 lakh people in the age group above 45 years, and out of this 13.27 lakh people have also received the second dose. In this way, more than 45 lakh people have been vaccinated so far. For the above 45 years age category, 52.87 lakh vaccines have been received so far, out of which only 5.25 lakh vaccine doses are left.
