Delhi HC to hear case pertaining to quashing of FIR against Rakesh Asthana and Alok Verma today

Alok Verma also said that “allegations of corruption against Rakesh Astana, who is holding a very high public office of such a prestigious institution raises serious concern, which are required to be thoroughly investigated without any bias, so that public faith in CBI is maintained”.

New Delhi: Delhi High Court is set to hear a case pertaining to quashing of FIR against Rakesh Asthana and others in the case of tussle between top two CBI bosses. The Delhi court is set to hear the matter at 2:15pm on Friday. Ousted CBI Director Alok Verma has filed his reply copy in the court and has denied all allegations made against him Asthana. Alok verma in his reply stated that 'allegations are nothing but imagination of the petitioner and petition by Asthana is not maintainable and is misconceived”. He further said that “Investigation is at nascent stage. Allegations made in complaint against Asthana and others are very serious and require thorough probe' Alok Verma also said that “allegations of corruption against Rakesh Astana, who is holding a very high public office of such a prestigious institution raises serious concern, which are required to be thoroughly investigated without any bias, so that public faith in CBI is maintained”. An FIR was filed against top two of country’s biggest investigative agency- CBI Alok Verma and Rakesh Asthana following corruption charges against them.
