Delhi Covid Positivity Rate Jumps To 4.11% With 795 Fresh Cases, Mumbai Active Infections Cross 10K-Mark
Mumbai saw 888 more patients recover from the viral infection over the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 10,49,326 and the recovery rate to 97 per cent.
New Delhi: Covid-19 cases in the country’s commercial capital continued on its steep upward climb with 1,745 new infections reported on Saturday. After a brief hiatus, the active cases in Mumbai touched the five-figure mark to be at 10,047. The city also reported one more Covid-related fatality taking the toll to 19,571. However, the city saw 888 more patients recover from the viral infection over the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 10,49,326 and the recovery rate to 97 per cent.
According to the state health bulletin, a total of 14,227 Covid tests were conducted over the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative figure to 1,72,74,399.
The bulletin further stated that 99 Covid positive patients were hospitalized on Saturday of which, 11 are currently being administered oxygen support.
Despite the rise in Covid numbers, the city civic administration still hasn’t declared any containment zones.
Meanwhile, Delhi on Saturday logged 795 new Covid cases taking the active caseload to 2,247 and the total count to 19,12,063. With the city recording no death, the toll stood at 26,218, according to data shared by the city health department.
With the fresh infections, the positivity rate increased to 4.11 per cent in the national capital.
According to the daily health bulletin, a total of 556 patients recovered and as many as 19,326 tests were conducted in the same period.
Of the total Covid positive patients, 1,360 are in home isolation and 92 are hospitalized.
Notably, Delhi on Friday had clocked 655 cases and two fatalities, while the positivity rate was 3.11 per cent.
The day before, the city reported 622 infections and two more fatalities, while the positivity rate was 3.17 per cent.
