Delhi: CM Kejriwal Hands Over Rs 1 Crore Cheque To Family Of Martyred Air Force Jawan

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met the family of a martyred Air Force jawan Rajesh Kumar and handed over a check of Rs 1 crore. Shaheed Rajesh's posting was in Assam.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met the family of martyred Indian Air Force (IAF) jawan Rajesh Kumar and handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore. Rajesh Kumar, 29, was working in a non-combat employment in IAF in 2015. In June 2019, he was posted in Jorhat in Assam. He was martyred during an operational training sorty (air maintenance) in Arunachal Pradesh.

Rajesh Kumar's family includes his wife, son, parents and four siblings. His brother works as a daily wage earner and one of his two sisters was given a job as a civil defence volunteer.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote this in his tweet

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote in his tweet, "Late Rajesh Kumar ji was working in the Indian Air Force. He was martyred in a plane crash while serving the country. Today, I met his family and handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 crore, which is expected to help the family. Will take care of Rajesh ji's family in future too. Even though this society cannot compensate for their losses in any way, we hope that this small effort will give them strength. We have helped one of his sisters get employment in civil defence and the other will also be given a job."

Delhi government also handed over cheques to them

The government also paid compensation to the families of Delhi Police ACP Sanket Kaushik, Delhi Police Constable Vikas Kumar, Civil Defence Volunteer Parvesh Kumar and IAF Squadron Leader Meet Kumar on Friday.
