PM Modi To Chair Covid Review Meet With CMs Of All States Today Via Video Conferencing
The meeting comes amid the rising number of covid-19 cases as India reported 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours.
New Delhi: In view of rising cases of Coronavirus across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a Covid review meeting with Chief Ministers of all states and union territories (UTs) on Thursday.
According to reports, the meeting will take place at 4:30 pm via video conferencing.
In the meeting, PM Modi will review the Covid situation in the country and take stock of the measures implemented to curb the spread of the infection.

The meeting comes amid the rising number of covid-19 cases as India reported 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours. India's active caseload has jumped to 11,17,531 which constitutes 3.08 percent of the country's total positive cases.
This will be PM Modi's first interaction with Chief Ministers on the Covid-19 situation after the third wave, fueled by the Omicron outbreak, gripped the nation.
The Prime Minister has held several rounds of discussions with CMs of states and UTs during the first and second waves of Coronavirus.
The recent surge in Covid cases in India has once again put several states on high alert with strict curbs and night curfews being reimposed to contain the spread of the contagious virus.
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi held a high-level review meeting with his Cabinet colleagues and top officials. During the meeting, it was decided that the PM will virtually meet CMs to discuss "state-specific scenarios, best-practices, and the public health response".

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed officials to ensure adequate health infrastructure at the district level and also stressed accelerating the pace of vaccination drive for teenagers in "mission mode".
The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and other health officials.
