COVID Curbs: Maharashtra Govt Allows Gyms, Beauty Salons To Operate At 50% Capacity For Fully Vaccinated

The Maharashtra government has imposed a night curfew between 11 pm to 5 am starting from January 10 (Monday).

New Delhi: The Maharashtra government on Saturday revised the COVID-19 restrictions announced in the state amid the rising daily infections.

As per the new order, beauty salons shall be grouped with hair-cutting saloons and be allowed to remain open with 50 per cent capacity. 

Gyms, which were previously ordered to close down, have been allowed to remain open with 50 per cent capacity. Only fully vaccinated persons shall be allowed to use these services, the state government said, as reported by news agency ANI.

In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Maharashtra government on Saturday imposed a night curfew between 11 pm to 5 am effective from January 10 (Monday).

As per the new guidelines, the movement of people in groups of five or more has been restricted from 5 am to 11 pm and no movement has been allowed from 11 pm to 5 am, except for essential services.

Swimming pools, spas, zoos, museums, and entertainment parks will remain closed until further orders.

Schools, colleges, and coaching institutes will also remain closed till February 15, with few exceptions in the state.

Additionally, the Maharashtra government has asked the private offices to operate at a 50 per cent capacity, while asking for only fully vaccinated employees to be allowed to attend the office physically.

Hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, auditoriums in the state will operate at 50 per cent seating capacity till 10 pm.

The hair-cutting salons and malls will operate at 50 per cent capacity.

"Restaurants will operate between 8 am and 10 pm with mandatory disclosure of full capacity and the present number of visitors on a notice board. Home delivery is allowed every day. The same rule is for cinema theatres as well," the order stated.
