Contact Tracing Of COVID-19 Infected Persons To Be Done Through Aarogya Setu App: MHA To Delhi Govt

The review meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was attended by Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Health Secretary Priti Sudan and other senior officials. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attended the meeting via video conferencing.
The discussion was held on Dr Paul's Committee Report on Containment Strategy on COVID-19 in the national capital. The focus of the meeting remained around the key strategies on making contact tracing more robust and further strengthening of medical services in severely impacted areas.
Following the review meeting, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced that the mapping of containment zones in Delhi would be done again, and a close watch will be kept on activities inside such areas. In a fresh order, it stated that the contact tracing of all infected persons in Delhi will be done with the help of Aarogya Setu App.
As per the latest development, each house outside containment zones should be listed and monitored, through which Delhi can get complete information. MHA further directed the Delhi government that COVID positive cases are strictly to be kept in a hospital, COVID Care Center or Home isolation. COVID Care Centers will be run properly with the help of voluntary organizations/NGOs.
Further in the discussion, it was reportedly decided that a Serological Survey will be conducted between 27 June and 10 July across Delhi in which, samples of 20,000 people will be tested. Through this, an overall assessment of COVID infection will be done and a comprehensive strategy will be decided based on findings of the survey.Delhi is the third-worst affected state in the country with cases inching toward the 60 k mark. At present, the state has a total of 56,746 cases with 31,294, active cases and 2,112 fatalities caused due Coronavirus. The number of recoveries till date stands at 33,013.
