Congress Issues Whip For Its Lok Sabha MPs, Calls Parliamentary Meeting Ahead Of Session
Ahead of the Wednesday session of the Lok Sabha, a Congress Parliamentary Party meeting has been called by the party at 10:30 am at Parliamentary Party office.
The Congress party has issued a whip for its Lok Sabha MPs to be present on Wednesday. The three-line whip was issued by the Congress party on Tuesday. The development comes amid the reports that Opposition parties including Congress will move a no-confidence motion against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak on the issue of ethnic violence in Manipur. The Opposition parties have been stalling the proceeding of the Parliament since the starting of the Monsoon session since July 20.
Countrywide outrage erupted after a video went viral on social media in which a bunch of men were seen parading two tribal women naked in Manipur's Kangpokpi on May 4, a day after ethnic violence broke out between majority Meiteis and tribal Kukis over Meiteis demand for inclusion in Scheduled Tribes (ST) list.

The decision to bring the no-confidence motion against the ruling BJP was taken at a meeting of like-minded Opposition floor leaders at the chamber of Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge in Parliament, sources told ABP News.
On Tuesday, amid sloganeering by Opposition party members, the Lok Sabha passed the Multi-State Co-operatives Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which seeks to strengthen cooperatives by making them transparent and introducing a system of regular elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the session on Tuesday, said that he was ready for a discussion on the Manipur issue, and urged the Opposition parties to create a conducive atmosphere for such a sensitive matter.
The Union Cabinet, on the other hand, on Tuesday cleared a bill to replace the ordinance promulgated for the creation of an authority for transfers and postings of Group-A officers in Delhi, reported PTI quoting sources.
