New Delhi: Today is the second day of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's four-day visit to Delhi. She will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today to discuss the issues of the state. The two leaders will have their first formal meeting in Delhi after winning the assembly elections in May. The meeting will take place at the PM residence at 4 pm. Apart from meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi, she is scheduled to meet many other opposition leaders.
West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh claimed that Mamata Banerjee "misused" central resources and now wants to meet the prime minister to "beg for money with folded hands". His remarks drew a sharp reaction from the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state, saying Ghosh should first "understand the federal system" under which the state head can always meet the prime minister.

Mamta to meet leaders of Opposition
All eyes will be on Mamta Banerjee's political meetings. According to sources, a program is being made to meet all the big leaders of the opposition. Efforts are being made to organize a meeting with all the leaders of the opposition. However, party sources are not revealing the secrets regarding this meeting. Looking at the activism and decisions of Mamta Banerjee in the last few days, the question arises whether Mamta Banerjee sees any national role for herself in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections? Three days ago, Mamata Banerjee was made the President of Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party. Generally, this post is given only to a party MP, whereas Mamata Banerjee is not a member of either house.
Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had accused the Narendra Modi government at the Center of trying to make the country a 'surveillance nation' over the Pegasus espionage controversy. Mamta appealed to the opposition parties to come together to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She asked them to take cognizance of the alleged espionage case targeting politicians, activists, and journalists using spyware.
However, it would be a little premature to say anything about the knowledgeable Mamta Banerjee being active on the national stage as the Lok Sabha elections are three years away. However, they definitely believe that Mamata Banerjee is capable of uniting the entire opposition on one platform.
