Chhattisgarh Naxal Attack: The Darbha Division Committee of the Naxalites claimed responsibility for the Naxalite attack that occurred in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, on Wednesday afternoon. The organization's PLGA (People's Liberation Guerrilla Army) was responsible for the incident. Sainath, the secretary of the Darbha Division, issued a press release on the subject. It has claimed that the attack in Aranpur is in retaliation for the government's actions against them. Meanwhile, senior CRPF members, including DGP Ashok Juneja, travelled to Aranpur and examined the location.

According to a press release released by the Naxalites, claimed that a team of PLGA, a Maoist guerrillas, carried out the incident. It further appealed the local youth to not join the police force.

DGP Ashok Juneja and other officials arrived in Aranpur straight after paying respect to the deceased soldiers in Dantewada on Thursday morning. After roughly 24 hours, the officials that arrived at the scene meticulously examined the explosion site. Among those present were ADG Naxal Operation Vivekanand Sinha, Bastar IG Sundarraj P., DIG Dantewada Kamlochan Kashyap, Dantewada SP Siddharth Tiwari, and CRPF personnel.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, ten District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans and their driver were slained when Maoists detonated an IED in south Chhattisgarh's Dantewada area, almost 350 kilometres from the state capital Raipur.

This was the state's worst Maoist attack on security forces in the recent two years; in 2021, 22 security officers were killed in an ambush at the boundary of Sukma and Bijapur districts.

Joga Sothi, Munnaram Kadti, Santosh Tamo, Dulgo Mandavi, Lakhmu Markam, Joga Kawasi, Hariram Mandavi, Rajuram Kartam, Jairam Podiyam, and Jagdish Kawasi were among those slain. Dhaniram Yadav, the driver of the car, has been identified. The explosion damaged the car they were riding in.

Five of the ten jawans killed - constables and head constables - were surrendered Maoists who joined the state force after laying down arms.

The DRG was founded in 2008 as a special unit of the Chhattisgarh police to carry out anti-Maoist operations in the state. It has largely recruited indigenous tribals, particularly from the Bastar area, and has carried out numerous successful anti-Maoist operations there.
