'Congress's Conspiracy With Athletes': Brij Bhushan As Delhi Court To Pronounce Order On 'Framing Of Charges' Today

BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh stated that the sexual harassment case against him was a "conspiracy of Congress's Bhupinder Hooda and the athletes".

With the Rouse Avenue Court slated to pronounce the order today on 'framing of charges' against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh regarding the sexual harassment case lodged against him by six women wrestlers, the Bharatiya Janata Party MP maintained that the case was a "conspiracy of Congress's Bhupinder Hooda and the athletes".

Talking about the sexual harassment accusations against him, Singh said: "This is a conspiracy by Congress along with the athletes. Bhupinder Hooda and some industrialists who are associated with the game did not like my way of working...Over 95% of athletes in Haryana and the country like me."

Last year, former chief minister of Haryana and leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday slammed Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for ‘dragging’ his and his son Deepender Singh Hooda’s name, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, into the wrestlers’ protest.

The order was deferred on Tuesday by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot, who stated that although the order was in the final stage but due to some pending editing work, the date of May 10 was decided.

The same court on April 26, had dismissed an application moved by the former WFI chief, who sought further investigation into the case, stressing on his claims that he was in the country when the alleged sexual harassment took place on September 7, 2022, the Indian Express reported.

The BJP MP claimed that he was in Serbia and not in Delhi. Singh had also shared the call detail record of Vijender's coach on record, in connection with the alleged incident.

The BJP MP also commented on Lok Sabha elections claiming "BJP will win Banaras, Lucknow and Kaiserganj seats with a huge margin..."
