BJP attains victory in Madhya Pradesh Municipal Elections: 5 facts
New Delhi: Extending their impressive performance in Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, BJP on Saturday won three civic body polls in Madhya Pradesh Municipal Elections.
BJP won the president posts in Harda, Mandav and Amarkantak.
- In Harda, Surendra Jain secured 27,558 votes and defeated Congresss’ Harimohar Sharma by 12,690 votes. 30 councillor posts were also won by BJP, Congress 4, Independent 1
- In Mandav, BJP’s Malti Ganwar won 2970 votes while Congress’ Lakshmi Bhawar got 2913 votes. 12 BJP councilors and 4 Congress councillors emerged victorious here.
- In Amarkantak, BJP’s Prabha Kanaria (2245) overpowered Congress’ Ankeshwari (1145) by 1118 votes. 11 BJP councillors, 3 Congress councillors and 1 Independent candidate emerged victorious here.
- The civic body polls were held on January 4.
- Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated BJP workers for the landslide win.
Meanwhile, polling for final phase of the Municipal council and Nagar Panchayat elections in Maharashtra is scheduled to take place on Sunday with 11 local bodies in Nagpur and Gondia districts of Vidarbha voting to elect councillors and presidents..@BJP4MP को तीनों स्थानीय निकाय चुनाव में मिली भारी विजय के लिए प्रदेश की जनता के प्रति हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ।
