Bihar Elections 2020: Pappu Yadav To Challenge Nitish Kumar? From Pushpam Priya To Tejashwi Yadav, Check Other CM Candidates
Bihar Elections 2020: The first of the three phase polling in Bihar will be held on October 28. The polling for the second and the third phase will be conducted on November 3 and 7 while the results are expected to be out on November 10.
Bihar elections are just around the corner and as per the latest development, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, the president of Jan Adhikar Party-Loktantrik (JAP-L) has been declared as the Chief Minister candidate of the newly formed Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) for the upcoming state assembly polls. Pappu Yadav's JAP-L has joined hands with Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan led Azad Samaj Party (ASP), the Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) to form a third front and contest approaching state assembly polls against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
In September, Pappu Yadav had launched party's manifesto and announced that in the affidavit filed before a judicial magistrate in the Patna High Court, Jan Adhikar Party has agreed to face legal action if it fails to fulfil any election promise made in the poll manifesto.
While launching his party’s manifesto, Pappu Yadav claimed that he will tender his resignation if he is not able to turn Bihar a corruption-free state in six months. The JAP chief also promised to set up a film city in memory of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to his manifesto, CCTV cameras will be installed in every shop and residence within a period of one year to control crime in Bihar. Besides this, Yadav also promised to resolve the flood situation problem within three years.

Nitish Kumar
Current Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal United chief Nitish Kumar has been declared as the face of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming state assembly polls. On October 11, Nitish Kumar had unveiled 'Saat Nischay - 2', which elaborates his party's plan for development in seven sectors including employment, health, infrastructure and woman empowerment in the state. Tejashwi Yadav
Rashtriya Janata Dal's 30-year-old Tejashwi Yadav has been projected as the Chief Miniter face by the chief opposition parties under Grand Alliance. Son of former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi is said to be the youngest CM candidate. his party is set to contest on as many as 144 seats in the Bihar elections.
Pushpam Priya
JD(U) functionary Binod Chaudhary's daughter Pushpam Priya Choudhary recently declared herself as the Chief Minister candidate in Bihar Polls, upfront challenging Nitish Kumar. As off now, her party known as the "Pluras Party" has already released a list of 40 candidates who would contest polls. A London School of Economics Alumni, Pushpam Priya Chaudhary herself is contesting from two seats in Bihar. Upendra Kushwaha
The third front coalition comprising RLSP, BSP and Devendra Prasad Yadav's Samajwadi Janata Dal Democratic has projected Rashtriya Lok Samta Party chief Upendra Kushwaha as their Chief Minister face for the 2020 Bihar assembly polls. This alliance is set to contest all the seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
The first of the three phase polling in Bihar is to be held on October 28. The polling for the second and the third phase will be conducted on November 3 and 7 while the results are expected to be out on November 10. Of the total 243 constituencies, 71 will go to the polls in the first phase.
