Bengal CM Mamata meets Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi to seek support against demonetisation

New Delhi: Amid everyday parliament disruptions, and protests by the opposition, Bengal Chief Minister who has been leading several protests against the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, reached out for RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his spouse Rabri Devi, seeking their support.   • Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee went to meet Lalu Prasad Yadav and wife Rabri Devi at their residence in Patna on Tuesday evening
 
  • Lalu and his party have been seen against the demonetisation policy, unlike his ally Nitish Kumar’s party Janta Dal United, who were seen praising PM Modi for his attempt to fight against black money in the country
 
  • Quoting Lalu’s health as a reason for her visit, she said “I have come here to meet Lalu ji, heard before Chhath that he is not well. I came to enquire about his health”
 
  • Commenting on different stand of Lalu and Nitish, Mamata said, “ Nitish and Lalu's parties are different, their ideologies different. My ideology is also different”
 
  • Mamata, who could be seen wrapping her arms around Rabri Devi, in the wake of support seeking said, “People are suffering due to demonetisation, What I say is something which Lalu ji and Rabri devi too say”
