Arrest two BJP leaders for Khan's murder, AAP tells Delhi Police

New Delhi: Hours after the Delhi Police gave a clean chit to BJP leader and NDMC Vice-Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar in a murder case, the ruling AAP on Thursday questioned the police action and demanded his arrest along with a BJP MP in the case.   NDMC's Estate Officer-cum-Legal Adviser M.M. Khan was shot dead by contract killers last month. Hotelier Ramesh Kakkar, the main accused, had allegedly hired the killers to eliminate Khan.   "We have provided enough evidences against (New Delhi Municipal Council Vice-Chairman) Tanwar. He wrote a letter to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung to seek Khan's removal. Then why is Delhi Police saving him? It is working like a spokesperson of the BJP," said AAP's Delhi convener Dilip Pandey.   He said Delhi Police cannot give a clean chit to Tanwar and BJP MP Mahesh Giri who, the AAP leader claimed, was also involved in the murder, without interrogating them.   "Tanwar and Giri have not been questioned by the Delhi Police in connection with the case. They can't be proven innocent without proper investigation," Pandey told reporters here.   He alleged that two contracts were given in the M.M. Khan murder case.   "The first contract was given to influence the inquiry that Khan was heading. But when it failed, another contract was given to kill him," he said.   The AAP leader also demanded the immediate arrest of Giri and Tanwar.   "They should be arrested at the earliest. Their call records should be checked and accounts seized. All the details regarding their questioning should be out in the public domain and before the court," Pandey said.   Khan was allegedly offered a Rs 3 crore bribe by Kakkar to turn the Rs 140 crore hotel dispute in his favour but the officer refused, resulting in his murder.
