Amit Shah, With Team Of Govt Lawyers, Meets LK Advani Ahead Of Babri Masjid Case Hearing

The grand groundbreaking event for the Ram temple is going to take place on August 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Ram Mandir which is slated to be constructed in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday met Bharatiya Janata Party veteran Lal Krishna Advani who is scheduled to appear before the special CBI court in connection with the 1992 Babri mosque demolition case. ALSO READ | Sharad Pawar Takes Jibe At PM Modi Over Ram Temple Bhoomi Pujan; Advises To Pay Attention On Coronavirus According to the reports, Shah accompanied by a team of government lawyers reached at the residence of 92-year-old leader to discuss the Babri Masjid matter. The two reportedly spoke for about 30 minutes over the case. One of the accused in the case related to the razing of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya, LK Advani is expected to record his statement before the court on Friday via video link. Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharati are also among the BJP leaders accused of conspiracy. As asked by the Supreme Court, the special court has to finish the trail and deliver its verdict in the case by August 31. After a protracted legal tussle, the Supreme Court had on November 9 last year paved the way for the construction of a Ram Temple by a Trust at the disputed site in Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot an alternative five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a new mosque at a "prominent" place in the holy town in Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi will offer prayers to Lord Ram at the temple and Lord Hanuman at Hanuman Garhi Temple before laying the foundation stone for the construction of the temple. As per reports, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat , Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar are on the list of invitees.
