At the 31st meeting of the Northern Zonal Council in Punjab's Amritsar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the forthcoming deployment of an anti-drone system along the country's borders

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 31st meeting of the Northern Zonal Council in Punjab's Amritsar on Tuesday where he affirmed the government's commitment to enhancing border security. During the meeting, Shah stated that the Modi government had successfully cracked down on narcotics and terrorism, underscoring the need to strengthen border security further. He announced the forthcoming deployment of an anti-drone system along the country's borders, as per a statement by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

"Modi government is committed towards strengthening the security system on the border, soon anti-drone system will be deployed on our country’s borders," he said, as per the statement.

The Northern Zonal Council, which plays a crucial role in both the development and security of the nation, represents 21% of India's landmass and 13% of its population. Furthermore, it contributes to over 35% of the nation's food grain production. It is significant to note that a significant proportion of personnel in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and the Army, responsible for guarding India's borders, hail from the states and Union Territories within the Northern Zonal Council.

"Not even a single child should remain malnourished in the country, it is the responsibility of all of us to reduce the school dropout rate, and, giving impetus to the cooperative movement will help in taking more than 60 crore people of the country towards prosperity," he said, according to the release.
